Why does the Society "go beyond what is written" re blood?
by Waymores Ghost inthis may sound somewhat cynical, but i think the society has held to it's position on blood in order to create a never-ending supply of martyrs.
martyrs are needed for the society to hold up as shining examples of faith and devotion.
this sense of self-sacrifice helps them tow the line with regards to all of their insane rules.. wg

Pride and being sued. Much of what is allowed for blood fractions has been based on what occurs between mother and unborn baby. Recent medical advances now conclude that all parts of blood can flow from baby to mom. Thats why in rare cases moms have to be given anti-rejection drugs if blood types don't match. The Watchtower will find it very hard to keep its head buried in the sand on this dark age doctrine.

3 cases of sexual abuse
1 rape
3 case of physical abuse on a child, 5 children removed from homes.
2 cases of wife beatings, one to the emergency room
In all these cases no action was taken by local elders.

The Watchtower has done a lot of damage by its poor counsel on depression and other health issues. It has controlled its members into thinking they are the "happiest people on earth", seeking outside help is a defeat that the organization doesn't provide the relief that many people need. Many times being with a High control group with high expectations, only leads one down a path of continual lack of self-worth.
In many lands people who literally starve don't have the physical energy to revolt against their government and food is used as a weapon. Many JW's are starving emotionally and sadly don't have the energy to leave, because the Watchtower controls the food for their minds.

When I found out about 10 years ago the body of elders had LIED to me, I stormed into an elders house, when another elder was there and told both of them off. It feels good now to realize I didn't roll over to those idiots
When I was going to be Dfed about a year ago I told the chairman to blow it out his ass. That felt good to know I called them out and the organization out ,for what they were. LYING hypocrites.
These people blow quite the tune in their literature about how wonderful they are, but do little or nothing to help their fellow worshippers.

Can someone please explain
by blacksheep ini've been out of the org so long that my memory is fading as to exactly what their rationale is for not celebrating thanksgiving.. i was speaking to my dad, whose not a jw but a supporter of it (for my mom's sake), and he was for some reason informing me of my mom and his attempts next week to take a relative (for whom they are caretakers) up to visit my aunt and uncle (several 200 miles away) for thanksgiving.
but he made sure to inform me how my mom and he would not eat with them (they'd go somewhere, like a movie, for a while).
again, forgive me, i've been out too long.

The Watchtower Farms don't raise turkeys, so those of the Bethel family can not get a free meal, so they ban the holiday.

Facial Hair and J.W.'s
by Coop Man ini have always wondered why witnesses are not "allowed" to have facial hair.
when i asked a local elder just a few weeks ago (he had no idea i was inactive, just happened to bump into him while my parents were visiting from out of town), his explanation was that "in some countries, it is totally acceptable to have beards, goatees etc...., but in the u.s. of a., facial hair is a sign of rebellion.
so, the local or territorial opinions on beards is what drives the local congregations policies.

They don't want to be mistaken for Orthodox Jews
They want to distance themself from Russell
Facial hair reminds to many on the Governing Body of their mothers.
Actually it is just a made up Watchtower rule that tests submission

JW Elder Spy Stories
by jschwehm inafter my brother-in-law left bethel, he got a "worldly" girlfriend.
the local jws wanted to know if he was living with her or not.
so they got the city overseer to spy on him.

I never spied on anyone, but two elders would drive by homes of sisters to see if worldy men were spending the night. One they disfellowshipped, one moved away. One elder asked a sister to check the home of a sister on her way home. So much for trusting in god to reveal things. Yes it is a Police state! Big brother is watching

What is it with Bangladesh?
by Noumenon in.
i boggle when i read the jw's worldwide service report and see that bangladesh, with a population of over 100,000,000 only has about 100 witnesses.. doesn't jehovah or the organisation care about bangladeshis?.
so much for 'and this good news will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come'.

As one CO said "some countries just don't have that many sheep, some nations in the Bible were entirely condemned for being wicked"
Watchtower smart-asses have an answer for everything!!!
